John Piper - A God-Entranced Vision of All Things

This is a book that has been burning my heart with each page that is read. A God Entranced Vision of All Things is a look at the theology and teaching of Jonathan Edwards, and how God was everything to him and to his ministry.

Mark Noll, who is a Christian historian, writes of Edwards, "Edwards' piety continued on in the revivalist tradition, his theology continued on in academic Calvinism, but there were no successors to his God-entranced worldview ... the disappearance of Edwards' perspective ... has been a tragedy."

Piper writes in this book about our generation: "What is missing is the mind-shaping knowledge and the all-transforming enjoyment of the weight of the glory of God. The glory of God - holy, righteous, all-sovereign, all-wise, all-good - is missing."
